Cattle Battery Replacement Program

As some of you will remember, some of our cattle batteries produced in 2023 had a fault in them which led them to short circuit, leading to the cattle collars stopped working and needed a physical restart in order to function properly again.

All affected customers have received a voucher which can be redeemed in Nofence’s online store, for the correct number of new batteries. These are of course free of charge. Should you want to purchase additional collars or accessories you can do that in the online store as well.

What should be done with the old batteries?

All affected customers received battery shields in 2023. This is a custom-made metal tape. All were instructed to attach a shield to all 2023 batteries. If you did this then, you can continue to use these batteries as long as they are not causing you any problems.

Are you are still experiencing collars switching themselves off? You have two options, you can apply the metal shield tape to the affected battery or to stop using it. If you will no longer use it, you should recycle it safely.

Who will be involved?

Customers who bought cattle 2.5 collars or extra C2.5 batteries before December 2023 are eligible to be contacted.  All the faulty batteries will be replaced with new-generation batteries.

How to identify faulty batteries

Suggestion: Gather all the batteries of cattle collars for an easy inspection

Battery with text2

Check the title and prod date on the battery, if the title is "C2 Battery", prod date is from "1.2023" to "12.2023" like the examples above, it is an affected battery.

Battery with tape

If the battery shield has been applied, this will partially cover the text: treat it as an affected battery.

If a battery shield has been applied you do not need to mark the battery any further.

Battery with mark

If not applied, please mark the battery so that you will know that this is a faulty battery in the future.

Please make sure that the text on the front is still readable after marking the battery.
