Grants & subsidies available in the United Kingdom

Some UK farming schemes offer funding that can help cover the cost of virtual fencing. Whether you're improving pasture access, trialling new tools, or protecting sensitive ground, support may be available to help you get started with Nofence.

Nationwide Grants

FIPL - Farming in Protected Landscapes programme (DEFRA)

Nationwide Availability 
FIPL is extended to March 2026, with an additional £30 M for environmental projects in protected areas. 

ADOPT Funding

Nationwide Availability 
Facilitator Support Grant: Offering £2,500 to support project facilitation. Full ADOPT Grant: £50,000-100,000 covering up to 70% of eligible project costs for projects lasting 6 to 24 months.

National Trust Sites

Nationwide Availability for National Trust Sites & Affiliated Farmers 
Nofence collars have been purchased as part of conservation and grazing projects. These collars are provided directly to farmers working on or near these lands, helping manage livestock in a way that supports nature and landscape goals without the need for traditional fencing.

RSPB Sites

National Heritage Lottery Grants

Nationwide Availability
National Heritage Lottery funding is available at different levels. Applications under £250,000 are reviewed monthly at local meetings. For grants between £250,000 and £5 million, decisions are made quarterly by local committees. Larger grants over £5 million are reviewed by the Board of Trustees, or by panels they appoint.

United Utilities provides water services across the North West of England. In some cases, they support projects using virtual fencing to manage livestock along waterways, helping to protect water quality and sensitive habitats.

Affinity Water (Water company)

Hertfordshire, London, Eastern and South Eastern England
Affinity Water supplies parts of Hertfordshire, London, Eastern and South Eastern England. They may support the use of Nofence in areas where grazing livestock can help maintain healthy water ecosystems and protect land near rivers and reservoirs.

FFIS is a capital grant scheme designed to support environmental performance improvements in Scotland's agricultural sector with an indicative budget of £14 M. 

CAGS - Crofting Agricultural Grants Scheme

Scotland
CAGS offers funding to crofters in the Highlands and Islands to help cover the cost of everyday farm improvements like better grazing or winter care for livestock. It’s all about making crofting more sustainable and keeping rural communities going strong.

Ffermio Bro

Wales
Ffermio Bro offers £1.8 M for projects in National Parks and Landscapes - habitat restoration, grazing support and climate resilience.
