Here you can find a list of available cost-share programs and incentives in the U.S. for virtual fencing. We always recommend you investigate grants on both at a state and a federal level. The EPA and USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture websites have additional resources and opportunities. Learn more

National & Federal Fundings

Conservation Innovation Grants

Nationwide Availability 
CIG funds new ideas and tools that help farmers improve natural resource conservation. These grants are available through state NRCS offices.

Agricultural Conservation Easement Program

Nationwide Availability
ACEP helps protect working farms, ranches, and wetlands. It supports landowners, land trusts, and other partners with conservation easements that protect grazing land and natural areas for the long term.

Conservation Reserve Program

Nationwide Availability
CRP offers rental payments and cost-share help for landowners who set aside sensitive land to improve soil, water, and wildlife. Contracts last 10–15 years. Extra support is available for grasslands.

Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program

Nationwide Availability
CREP brings together public and private partners like states, tribes, and nonprofits to help address key environmental goals through conservation projects.

Conservation Stewardship Program

Nationwide Availability
CSP provides five-year contracts and payments to farmers who want to build on existing conservation efforts. It rewards those who maintain practices and try new ones.

Environmental Quality Incentives Program

Nationwide Availability
EQIP offers funding and expert support to tackle resource challenges from improving soil, water, and air quality to creating wildlife habitats and boosting drought resilience. 

Regional Conservation Partnership Program

Nationwide Availability
RCPP funds locally led conservation projects that solve natural resource issues on working lands. It’s a partnership-first approach with shared goals and solutions.

Fund-a-Farmer Grants (F.A.C.T)

Nationwide Availability
Each autumn, F.A.C.T grants are available to help farmers like you boost animal welfare, move away from confinement, and improve pastures.

Fruit Guys Community Fund 

Nationwide Availability
Grants up to $5,000 are available for small farms with at least two years of experience. Each year, farms are chosen for projects that boost sustainability and support local communities.

PERC

Nationwide Availability
PERC’s Virtual Fence Conservation Fund offers support to ranchers and conservationists using virtual fencing on public and private land. It’s a chance to back wildlife and working lands with future-ready tech.

LASSO Prize (American-Made)

Nationwide Availability
The LASSO Prize supports cattle agrivoltaics projects that benefit farmers, landowners, and rural communities while helping move solar energy forward.

Connect Ag Project

Nationwide Availability
Climate-smart grants that were on hold are now moving forward and some include support for virtual fencing. One project from Trust in Food is putting $40 million into helping farms use tools like Nofence to work smarter and care for the land.

Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE)

Nationwide Availability
SARE offers funding for research and education projects that support sustainable farming. Farmers, ranchers, and researchers can apply through regional offices with options that include pastured livestock and rotational grazing.

State & Regional funding

AGRI Sustainable Agriculture Demonstration Grant (SustAg)

Minnesota 
Minnesota farmers can apply for up to $50,000 in funding this fall to support sustainable ag projects from soil health to livestock systems. Projects led by farmers and those supporting underserved communities are prioritised. Matching funds are needed for larger grants.

Grazing Infrastructure Cost-Share (Practical farmers of Iowa)

Iowa
Beginning farmers in Iowa can apply for up to $2,500 in 1:1 cost-share funding to help cover the cost of portable fencing, watering equipment, and basic shelter for grazing animals.

California (SB 675) 

California
California SB 675 backs prescribed grazing to help prevent wildfires and support forest health. The bill creates a local grant program to support landowners using grazing as a land management tool.

Grants available in the UK

Here you can find a list of available grants in the UK and Scotland. Depending on the institution, you can get even up to 60% of the Nofence cost covered.

Grants to tenant and owner-occupier crofters, living in the Highlands and Islands Enterprise Area towards the costs of a range of agricultural operations.
